A few months ago, I received an invitation that read: “On behalf of Vice President Kamala Harris, I am pleased to invite you to participate in a roundtable with women entrepreneurs during the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles. This event will be an opportunity to discuss a range of women’s issues with the Vice President.” I was just in awe.

Since the beginning of her career, I have been an absolute fan. One of the very first things I noticed about Vice President Kamala Harris is her dynamism, determination, grace, strength of vision, joyous laugh… and that she, too, has a particular penchant for sneakers and pearls.

On June 7th, 2022, there I was. In a room impregnated with the energy of so many like-minded women.

Her warmth, presence and call to action “In Her Hands”, made it clear that she has made it a priority to support women across the Western Hemisphere. That aside from providing women with the tools to succeed…she wants them to feel seen and heard.
